HPV Vaccine

The Gardasil vaccine is currently being given to all schoolgirls in 1st and 2nd years.

This vaccine, as well as reducing the incidence of cervical cancer will greatly reduce infection with genital warts. Unfortunately, there will not be a catch-up programme, so anyone else will have to pay for it.

It is a course of 3 vaccines given over 6 months and is licensed for all females between the ages of 9 and 29 years.
